Coming - April is Poetry Month!

Big plans are underway for the entire month of April, 2006 for a community-wide celebration sponsored by the Greensboro Central Library. Project director for PoetryGso is Steve Sumerford, Central Library Assistant Director.

PoetryGso features a month-long variety of poetry readings, musical presentations, poetry slams, open mic and events at the branch libraries, all Greensboro colleges and universities. There will also be a county-wide competition for High School Poet Laureate.

Kickoff events include poetry, jazz and java at a local restaurant and feature readings by area poets and music by area musicians. WGOT poets will be among the readers. This is a free event. Kathy Wilson and Fran Ostasiewski are our WGOT representatives on the PoetryGSO subcommittee.

GSO Poetry Events

People will be sharing poetry all over town. Workshops, slams, readings, open mics, circles, educational series. You won't want to miss it.
